Description
The Silver Package is a package designed for either the novice or the veteran. In comparison to the Bronze Package, it includes a slightly longer pole, 16 compartments in the purple martin house (as opposed to 12), and a ground sleeve.
The purple martin house is large enough to help you either get started on your purple martin colony, or give you significant expansion on your existing colony. Most veterans agree that a good size of purple martin colony is around 24 compartments, so if you are looking to expand this would be a great option for you if you currently have a small setup. While this may be slightly smaller than this number, this is still providing a good number so that you have growth potential for the future.
The ground sleeve, an addition from the bronze package, which will give you the opportunity to remove your purple martin house during the winter. The benefit is that this means that it may be less cleaning on it come the following year when it is time to set it back up and a good way to protect your purple martin house during harsh winter months.
